Day 19. Kangaroo Island: north coast and beaches

Our last day on Kangaroo Island. A short drive along the east- and northcoast, and enjoy the beaches. First to Prospect Hill, which Matthew Flinders first climbed in 1802 to get a good view to map the island. Then to the northcoast, back to our home, and a yummy fish and chips at night in Penneshaw. Tomorrow we will take the ferry back to the mainland for the long return trip to Sydney.

It’s not a small island !

D’Estrees Bay in the far distance

Steep climb and descend

Spooky dried up salt lake near Emu Bay

Emu Bay. Another peaceful, quiet and white sand beach

Last swim in the ocean at Island Beach, near our holiday house

Fish and Chips at “Fish” in Penneshaw

That’s the only secret when cooking fish

King George Whiting (as fresh as possible) with crunchy chips. So delicious !

They were not ‘at home’
